Find Your Style

Explore some popular dances and see what strikes your fancy!

Slow Dancing
Great for Weddings and Date Nights

The #1 most requested dance style I teach is Slow Dancing. Slow Dancing spans a wide range of music including R&B, Pop favorites, Rock, and Jazz. It's absolutely perfect for a First Dance and a must-learn staple for going out. Simple or elaborate, Slow Dancing provides a great introduction to partnered dancing.

Latin Dances
Dive Into Rhythm

One of the most popular dance genres both here in Texas and worldwide is Latin dancing, which encompasses many different dances originating in Central and South America. Each dance has a unique style, rhythm and history. You'll have the most opportunities to dance Salsa and Bachata if you go out, although you may find yourself wanting to explore more Latin styles over time, including Cha Cha Cha, Rumba and Merengue.

Country-Western Dances
Let's Go Honky Tonkin'

It's hard to beat Two-Step and other Country-Western dances when you live in Texas. If you ever find yourself at a honky tonk, you definitely want to learn Two-Step and Country Swing. One of the fun aspects of Two-Step is that no two regions dance it exactly the same; everybody has their own take on it. Country Waltz, Polka, Triple Two-Step, and Niteclub Two-Step are fun additions  to any dancer's repertoire and will allow you to stay on the dance floor all night - no matter what the band or DJ plays.

Ballroom Dances
Elegance Embodied

Ballroom dancing has had a huge impact on the evolution of other dance styles, and is a beautiful genre in and of itself. You're most likely to have seen Ballroom dancing on shows like Dancing with the Stars or in films such as Take the Lead or Shall We Dance? My personal favorite Ballroom dances are Foxtrot and the Waltz - I love how the music carries you from step to step. These dances are classic for a reason; give them a try and you may find a new passion!

Swing Dances
Good for the Soul

Swing dancing dates back to the early 20th century, coming into popularity along with jazz music in African American communities. Swing dancing is alive and well today, and has evolved into many unique styles, from East Coast Swing to Lindy Hop to the more modern West Coast Swing. These dances all tend to be higher energy, improvisational, and super fun! They're sure to bring a smile to your face.

Putting the Fun in Funky

For those looking to either blend in or stand out at a party, I recommend learning some basic grooves and moves.

Once you get used to dancing by yourself, you'll have an absolute BLAST with this. There's almost nothing I love more than losing myself to a good beat and letting my body move!
